YOUR SAFETY AND WELLBEING IS OUR PRIORITY

We have always taken great pride in delivering the highest standards in cleanliness and hygiene. Now, we’ve supplemented those practices with a comprehensive system of enhanced health and safety protocols based on the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control, the California Department of Public Health and the California Hotel & Lodging Association. We have implemented a rigorous ongoing training program to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment throughout our resort for our valued guests and employees. As government and health officials release new guidelines on hygienic and social distancing practices, we will adapt our own protocols with an abundance of caution for the safety of both our guests and our employees. The following outlines the precautionary measures currently in effect at the resort to protect against COVID-19. Each department has its own detailed set of procedures, which are based on expert guidance from leaders in sanitization and safety.

HOW DO I GET TO SURF & SAND RESORT?

Surf & Sand is settled on the Laguna coastline, just south of Newport Beach. The Resort is an approximately 1-hour drive from LAX and an approximately 20-minute drive from Orange County’s John Wayne Airport.

Directions from LAX and John Wayne Airport
1. Follow the signs exiting the airport that lead to the 405 Freeway South.
2. Stay on Interstate 405 until you reach the 133 (Laguna Canyon Hwy) toward Laguna Beach.
3. The Hwy ends at Highway 1 (PCH), then take a left (south). Surf & Sand Resort is 1 mile south on the ocean side of the highway.

Directions from San Diego
1. Take 5 North toward Los Angeles.
2. Take the “Beach Cities” Exit and head north on “Beach Cities” Highway 1 North.
3. Head north approximately 10 miles. Surf & Sand Resort is located on the ocean side of the highway.

WHICH AIRPORT IS CLOSEST TO SURF & SAND RESORT?

John Wayne airport is a short 20-minute drive from Newport Coast. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and San Diego Airport (SAN) are approximately an hour away from the resort.

WHAT TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT?

The gateway to Southern California and the closest airport to Laguna Beach is John Wayne Airport, Orange County (SNA). It is conveniently located 16 miles from the resort. Travel in style with rates starting at $210 + gratuity one way. Travel time is approximately 30-45 minutes. Concierge team will be delighted to set up private transportation to or from the airport.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES?

We guarantee that you will be able to check-in to our Laguna Beach Resort & Spa at 4 p.m. The room is yours until 11:00 a.m. on your day of departure. If you wish to check-out later than 11:00 a.m., please contact the front desk.

WHAT DO I DO IF I REQUIRE EARLY CHECK-IN OR LATE CHECK-OUT?

We would love to accommodate your travel needs. You may request early check-in at the time of booking. Please note we cannot guarantee until the day of check-in if the room will be available before 4 p.m. To request late check-out, please call the front desk on the day of your departure (additional fees may apply).

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY?

We allow 2 dogs per room, each 40 lbs. and under, at the Surf & Sand Resort. There is a non-refundable deep-cleaning fee of $200. Click here to learn about our Pet Program.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RESORT FEE?

A $25 daily resort fee is applied to each hotel reservation and includes amenities and services designed to enhance your experience at Surf & Sand Resort.

IS THERE A PARKING FEE?

Our valet parking service will take care of your vehicle and has a $45 overnight fee. 

Day parking is $25 and restaurant validation $10.

CAN I SMOKE IN MY ROOM?

Rooms and suites are non-smoking. If there is evidence of the smoking of any substance in your non-smoking accommodation, you will incur a fee of $500 for standard rooms. Please note that e-cigs, vapors, hookahs, marijuana, etc. fall under our non-smoking policy.

CAN I SMOKE ANYWHERE ON THE RESORT?

The Laguna Beach City Council approved a ban on smoking and vaping in all public spaces that began on June 23, 2017. The ordinance bans smoking throughout the city. A fine of $500 will be given for any violation. The city already prohibits smoking at beaches and parks. WHAT ARE YOUR ROOM SERVICE HOURS?

Room service is available:
Daily, Breakfast 7-11 am
Daily, Lunch and Dinner Sun-Thu 11:30 am – 8 pm; Fri-Sat 11:30 am – 9 pm

WHAT ARE SPLASHES BAR’S HOURS?

In-room dining is available to overnight resort guests. Breakfast is available 7:00 am – 11:00 am. Lunch and Dinner are served 11:30 am – 8:00 pm, Sunday – Thursday & 11:30 pm – 9:00 pm Friday – Saturday.

WHAT ARE PACIFIC PERK’S HOURS?

Pacific Perk and the adjacent retail boutique are open.
Pacific Perk – 6:30 am to 2 pm, daily
Gift Shop – 9 am-5 pm, daily

WHAT IS SURF & SAND RESORT’S CANCELLATION POLICY?

Currently—and until further notice—we ask for 72-hour notice of cancellation for full refund or rebooking for all individual reservations.

HOW MANY ROOMS ARE REQUIRED FOR A GROUP BLOCK AND WHO DO I CONTACT ABOUT THIS?

Six rooms or more are required for a group block. Request to speak with Sales/Catering for booking information. Call us at 844-489-3650 or email us at Surfsales@jcresorts.com.

DOES THE RESORT OFFER ENTERTAINMENT AT THE HOTEL?

We normally offer live music on weekends at 15FiftyFive. Hours and availability may vary depending on the season.

IS LAUNDRY SERVICE AVAILABLE?

We offer laundry and dry-cleaning services. Please contact guest services for details.

OUTSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILM SHOOTS?

Professional photography and videography is not permitted without prior written approval. Additional fees may be required. All wedding-related photography is exclusive to guests who have booked their celebration through our Sales & Events team.
